Google says it takes 5 days to purge an alias and set it up independently, is that an issue?

Google says that it can take up to 5 days to purge a google apps alias domain before it can be set up as an independent account but we’ve seen it automatically happen much faster.  If you have a Google Apps for Business Account we recommend you call phone support and request they they purge the alias sooner.

Note: You will need your customer PIN when calling Google. To locate your Customer PIN, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your control panel at https://www.google.com/a/your_domain.com. (Be sure to replace ‘your_domain.com’ with the domain name for your organizaton such as acme.com).
  2. From the blue menu bar, click Support.
  3. Look for your Customer PIN.
